The childs mother had tried to kill herself repeatedly and is taking lithium currently for her Bi-polar disorder. My fiance thinks she is dangerous to herself and others. They currently share custody, but he wants his son to come and live with us. We dont have the money to hire a lawyer, but we need advice on who to talk to. Is there a way to fight for custody without paying phenominal costs. We really want to take care of this right away. Help please!
Contact Child Protective Services and hopefully he will be able to provide dates and places the child’s mother has been taken for her disorder to prove she would not be the best parent to have the child with.
An even stronger case would be that you and your fiance tie the knot and legally get married then show you could provide a more stable home.
Scientists develop antibiotics to fight bacterial diseases. Which statement correctly summarizes how antibiotics work?
A. They cause the bacterial cell to shrink through osmosis.
B. They interrupt processes vital to the bacteria.
C. They all mutate the DNA of bacteria.
D. They all prevent bacteria from absorbing food.
I would say the answer is B.
Antibiotics interfere with the structure of the cell wall that protects the bacterium.
I got a parking ticket in the morning because I parked my car during street sweeping. How can I fight this parking ticket by mail? I would like to know if there is a website that has letters created with tabs to enter my information about the citation. I think its unfair to have to be told when to move a parked car especially in a residential area where the streets still do not look clean whenever I park there. Help me fight the good fight and avoid be taken for a sucker for the second time please.
you usually can’t fight them by mail. you have to go to traffic court in person. Was there a sign posted in the area stating when street sweeping takes place? if so you are out of luck and have no case. If not then you have a case. In most places with street sweeping if it is on a regular schedule then it has to be posted on the street.
go to traffic court and take photographs of the street you were parked on prooving that theres no warning or signage for street sweeping.
good luck
So I developed a cold yesterday and has caused me to miss work and classes. I have a runny, stuffy nose, a bad headache (more on the right side) sore throat, and a bit of fatigue, no fever yet. my question is, what is the best way to fight off a cold? I have midterms next week and need to get prepared and be mentally focused on that. Any remedies on the best way to fight off a moderate cold? or possible minor sinus infection?
Here are some tips that help me when I’m fighting a cold, respiratory infection, or flu…..
OVER THE COUNTER MEDS:
take a sinus decongestant containing Phenylephrine 5mg. you don’t necessarily need all the extras it’s often mixed with.
but if you want some extras, here you go: Guaifenisen (Mucinex is the brand name, but it’s way cheaper at dollar stores. always read ingredients!!) liquefies your mucus so it’s much easier to expel. But you have to drink TONS of water or it won’t work, and you must be near a bathroom because it makes you pee a lot. (yet causes constipation… another reason to stay hydrated!)
Ibuprofen is an excellent anti-inflammatory, but it’s strong, so alternate it with Acetaminophen as needed for pain, pressure, and headaches.
ESSENTIALS:
stay home. (even one day can make a difference to your immune system. plus, you’ll keep your germs to yourself.)
sleep. (bolsters up your immune system)
drink plenty of water. (8 8oz servings a day=bare minimum!!) (pee out those germs and flush ‘em away!!)
take vitamin C, zinc, and echinacea. (also strengthen the immune system)
eat too much garlic. (sorry, but it really is great for your health! and it will give you a good reason to stay home. )
wash hands well and often. use moisturizing lotion or hand sanitizer to keep from cracking your hands to bits.
avoid milk and chocolate. dairy foods will thicken your mucus and make your fight that much harder.
the meds and garlic are harsh, so don’t take them on an empty stomach. i hope you allow yourself some time to feel better soon! take care.
also i just learned a new tip from John Popper of Blues Traveler: very hot water, cayenne pepper, white vinegar, and honey. SOUNDS GROSS!!! he gargles it and spits up all kinds of nasty crap. might be worth a shot, but don’t hurt your vocals! to be safe maybe just drink hot water with lemon and honey. that works too, and it’s much more pleasant.
COUGHING FITS:
you will benefit most from the mucinex and water. (generic is fine… but don’t take any DEXTROMETHORPHAN (cough suppressant) during the day. take it at night so you can stop coughing and get some rest. during the day, you need to drink a ton of water and break that crap up so it will leave you alone!)
PS: I have never been pregnant. I am not a doctor or nurse. I am just an uninsured person who gets sick and must self-treat. Please consult a physician or at the very least, look up side effects of the above suggested over-the-counter medications before taking them while pregnant or nursing.
Being attacked by a guy with a knife or a gun or some is scary but it doesnt have to be. Heres three ways to avoid being hurt by sociopaths who have no regard for human life.

UNDATED – There are more details about a confrontation earlier this week between an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper and a paramedic in Okfuskee County. The incident was caught on tape as the trooper accuses the ambulance driver of not pulling over when the patrol car was trying pass him. What does the law say about who has the right of way?
It was Sunday along Highway 62 in Paden. Kenyada Davis is behind the cell phone camera. His mother was being transported by Muscogee Creek Nation EMS to a hospital in Prague.
