I heard in order to be able to have powerful punches you need to get a heavy punching bag. How heavy should the punching bags be?
Also, what does it mean when a fighter has good angles? Does that mean he can punch many different area of the body very well or is it that he can punch one area from different.. angles? Who was really good at this so I see some good examples? Is there also a way of learning to do this?
1.) A heavy bag should be at least half your body weight, preferably the same as your body weight or more. Rocky Marciano and Mike Tyson both trained on 300 pound heavy bags and that is where a majority of their power came from.
2.) It means he can hit you effectively from very awkward and unorthodox angles. The absolute best boxer who had the best way of punching off of angles is the pre-1989 Mike Tyson. There is a way to learn, yes, and the best way to learn is to observe.

This is an exact example of me using my punching bag as a weight during my routine.
For this exercise I do 10 reps during my routine; I then repeat my entire routine 2-3 more times during the day that I choose to exercise on.
I usually use this exercise directly after my warm up stretches, right before I climb up on to the punching bag to begin the ’serious’ exercises.
I feel it helps get all of my arm muscles ready for the extra strain of lifting my entire body weight at slightly odd angles for an extended period of time.
The bag itself weighs roughly 20kg, and at the time of this video I weighed 64kg; just for those that wish to know.
Oh and remember! Only do the exercises you enjoy doing, otherwise you may just give up all together!
If you don’t enjoy it, change it! Enjoyment is the win!
