Libya, officially the Great Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, also translated as Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Great Jamahiriya, is a country located in North Africa. Bordering the Mediterranean Sea to the north, Libya lies between Egypt to the east, Sudan to the southeast, Chad and Niger to the south, and Algeria and Tunisia to the west.
With an area of almost 1,800,000 square kilometres (694,984 sq mi), Libya is the fourth largest country in Africa by area, and the 17th largest in the world. The capital, Tripoli, is home to 1.7 million of Libya’s 5.7 million people. The three traditional parts of the country are Tripolitania, Fezzan, and Cyrenaica. Libya has the highest HDI in Africa and the fourth highest GDP (PPP) per capita in Africa as of 2009, behind Seychelles, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon. These are largely due to its large petroleum reserves and low population.
The flag of Libya consists of a green field with no other characteristics. It is the only national flag in the world with just one color and no design, insignia, or other details.
Muammar Abu Minyar al-Gaddafi, also known simply as Colonel Gaddafi (born 1942) has been the dictator of Libya since a coup in 1969.
From 1972, when Gaddafi relinquished the title of prime minister, he has been accorded the honorifics “Guide of the First of September Great Revolution of the Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya” or “Brotherly Leader and Guide of the Revolution” in government statements and the official press. With the death of Omar Bongo of Gabon on 8 June 2009, he became the third longest serving of all current national leaders. He is also the longest-serving ruler of Libya since Ali Pasha Al Karamanli, who ruled between 1754 and 1795.
On July 1, 1991, President George H.W. Bush nominated Clarence Thomas for the Supreme Court of the United States to replace Thurgood Marshall, who had announced his retirement. The nomination proceedings were contentious from the start, especially over the issue of abortion, and many women’s groups and civil rights groups opposed Thomas on the basis of his conservative political views, as they had also opposed Bush’s Supreme Court nominee from the previous year, David Souter, on the same grounds. Toward the end of the confirmation hearings, allegations by Anita Hill, a law school professor who had previously worked with Thomas at the United States Department of Education and then at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), were leaked to the media from a confidential FBI report. The allegations led to a media frenzy and further investigations. Televised hearings were re-opened and held by the Senate Judiciary Committee before the nomination was moved to the full Senate for a vote. Thomas was confirmed by a narrow majority.

I was feeling a bit off, and was unsuccessfully working on three other music videos (I think only two of which were made), a Ten/Inara fanfic that was due three days ago now (I wrote four and they were all horrid, so I never turned one in), a Tennant LIMS challenge icon that’s due in less than a day (I was voted out), an entry for a Wilson themed House icontest (that I didn’t win), and the banners for House_Challenge on Livejournal (that took me four months to get around to).
So, naturally, I made a crack!vid. ^^

The idea came from re-watching various Tennant-y things with a newly converted friend, and noticing exactly how many times the man was slapped. Namely, alot. Of course, fifteen seconds into the video, and I was already finished with my slapping-footage, so it became a general ‘Look at all the that happens to this guy’ video instead. But it still makes me laugh, so I’m sharing the Tennant!Love around.
And where the clips came from.
If Tennant is wearing a plain white shirt with no tie, it’s probably from ‘L.A. Without A Map’. Also, if he’s wearing a shirt that looks like he said something mean to the costume designer and she’s retaliating. The yellow shirt on the beach scene is likewise, from ‘LA Without A Map’.
I’m sure most of you recognise the bits from Doctor Who. If not, then it’s everything that I don’t describe here.
If he’s in a white shirt with a dark blue tie and shoulder bars, it’s from a short film called ‘Traffic Warden’.
The shots of him spewing Champagne (My personal favourite part of the whole fanvid..) and dejectedly headdesking the wall are from another short film called ‘Sweetnightgoodheart’.
If he’s in crazy clothes that look like the 1700’s-or-there-abouts, that’s because it is, and it’s from ‘Casanova’.
The fight in the bathroom with bizarre colouring is from ‘Secret Smile’, most of which is uploaded here somewhere.. Or was before.
Old, blurry shots of tie-dye!David in an intimate relationship with the wall or a padded chair are from ‘Takin’ Over the Asylum’.
Pool shots are from ‘Blackpool’. (No pun intended, which is good, because there isn’t one.)
